AI Collective Bangladesh Chapter Launches — Building an Ethical AI Community with LCT Leadership

When global ambition meets local expertise, innovation takes root. On 20 September 2025, the Bangladesh chapter of The AI Collective — a global non-profit community uniting tens of thousands of AI founders, researchers, operators and investors — was officially launched in Dhaka’s Gulshan 2, marking a key milestone for the country’s AI ecosystem.
The event brought together prominent educators, founders, C-level executives and tech-industry experts to focus on how Bangladesh can develop and adopt artificial intelligence in an ethical, responsible and human-centred way. Computer Bichitra | Dhaka Courier
Vision & Purpose
Convenor Mr Mohammed Asif opened the event by articulating the chapter’s mission:
“We believe that AI has the power to transform our world into a better place — but this can only be achieved by building a community that prioritises trust, transparency and human-well-being.” Computer Bichitra | Dhaka Courier
This emphasised the chapter’s commitment to promoting ethical AI development rather than simply technological advancement.
Leadership & Panel Insight
During the launch, a panel discussion moderated by founding member Ms Nawshad Jahan Promee featured distinguished speakers including Dr Shamim Ahmed (Associate Professor, Department of Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering, Dhaka University) and Mr Firoze M Zahidur Rahman (CEO & Chief Solution Architect, Loosely Coupled Technologies). Dr Ahmed emphasised:
“AI Ethical Care Centre should be introduced.”
Meanwhile, Mr Rahman commented:
“We should be able to understand the difference between ethical and illegal terms exclusively while talking about AI; otherwise, a misconception will grow in people’s mind regarding AI.” Computer Bichitra | Dhaka Courier
These remarks underscore LCT’s role and voice in the emerging ethical AI dialogue in Bangladesh.
Community Engagement & Future Plans
An open forum further enriched the event with participation from CTOs, cyber-security trainers, HR specialists, educators and bankers. Topics ranged from policy frameworks and education to how AI tools should be responsibly integrated in workspace and academia. For example, Dr Tanzima Hashem (Head, CSE Dept., Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology) observed:
“Restricting students from using ChatGPT or similar AI tools may actually limit their growth. Instead, we must guide how they use these tools effectively.” Computer Bichitra | Dhaka Courier
And G.M. Faruk Ahmed (AGM, Rupali Bank & Cyber Security Trainer) stressed the need for a coherent national AI policy involving cross-industry regulatory participation. Computer Bichitra | Dhaka Courier
Founding member Mr Sami Al Islam closed with gratitude and a call-to-action: the chapter will host future events and programmes aimed at enriching Bangladesh’s AI ecosystem. Computer Bichitra | Dhaka Courier
Why It Matters
The launch of The AI Collective Bangladesh Chapter signifies a major step for Bangladesh in positioning itself as part of the global ethical AI conversation. For LCT, this event highlights its leadership role — not only offering AI platforms (like SharedToday) but also shaping the framework by which AI should develop within society.
It also reinforces LCT’s commitment to human-centric AI, aligning with your brand vision of delivering data, analytics and AI solutions that are ethical, transparent and purpose-driven.
